Subject: My Way LI - Because, He Can!!

On Thursday, July 10, 2008 I sent the following message to you, Glenn Greenwald:

Subject: FISA/Amnesty...

My compliments -- for your excellent work as a journalist -- your coverage of the FISA/Amnesty situation has been superb. Most journalists drive me to search for other viewpoints -- not you, you cover the subject so well. even dealing with dissent, that I have no need to search elsewhere -- thank you for that.

But, I am concerned about solving problems -- not just talking about them. And while you might be promoting some corrective action, your MONEYBOMB approach, I trust that you recognize that you are treating a symptom -- NOT the cause of the problem. You are working campaigns against those Democrats that flipped when you should be working on the reason that they flipped. It should be obvious that the flippers knew about you and your work and that they believe more in the power that they are courting than they fear your kind of consequence.

Glenn, if I may be so bold, are you really concerned about the problem -- or are you just f**king around with it. I apologize for the terminology, but I am angry with several other journalists that talk a good game but refuse to really get involved. You, OTOH, are already in pretty deep -- but I still had to ask the question.

Barack Obama flipped because he knows that the powers will not put him in office with the line that got him the nomination -- change, the last thing that the powers want is change -- I mean, after all, they are in power now -- why change??

I don't believe that the powers will put him in office because he can't be trusted, so they will put McCain in office. We have sunk to a lesser of evils election and the powers can easily make Obama seem to be the greater of two evils -- they control the FUD purveyors.

So, who are the powers?? I have no way of knowing, precisely; however, I am not talking about Republicans or Democrats, I am talking about the powers that control the media in addition to a number of other sectors of society. You might call them the "haves".

To solve the problems we need to marshal the "have-nots" and those sympathetic to the "have-nots". I would be willing to bet that Obama would not have flipped had he believed that he could successfully recruit the "have-nots". And the same goes for those other Democrats.

In addition, the "have-nots" need to be educated to the point of seeing through the FUD campaign, so that they will convert the process back to voting for the most qualified.

So, what say you??

Doug

Obviously, I was wrong about "the powers" and their "trust" of Obama. They knew who they were dealing with. But, I knew about Obama -- he couldn't then and can't now, be trusted by the rest of us.

You, of course, ignored that message, and while you have on occasion responded, the situation has not changed dramatically. I know more about those powers, thanks to Bill Domhoff -- and Barack Obama continues to run  the country the way that he wants -- because, he can!!

And you, Glenn Greenwald wrote:

Condemnation of President Obama is intense, and growing, as a result of his announced intent to sign into law the indefinite detention bill embedded in the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). These denunciations come not only from the nation's leading civil liberties and human rights groups, but also from the pro-Obama New York Times Editorial Page, which today has a scathing Editorial describing Obama's stance as "a complete political cave-in, one that reinforces the impression of a fumbling presidency" and lamenting that "the bill has so many other objectionable aspects that we can't go into them all," as well as from vocal Obama supporters such as Andrew Sullivan, who wrote yesterday that this episode is "another sign that his campaign pledge to be vigilant about civil liberties in the war on terror was a lie." In damage control mode, White-House-allied groups are now trying to ride to the rescue with attacks on the ACLU and dismissive belittling of the bill's dangers.

And why is Obama behaving this way?? Because, He Can!! And he aims to prove it!!

Do you NOT get the message?? Elect Obama in 2012 and there will be no  election in 2016 -- It could happen -- because , he can!!

To be continued (I Hope)
