Subject: My Way XLII - Wake Up, Jarvis, Wake Up!!!!!

Caveat: Something important has happened that requires the attention of my expanded destination list.

Jeff Jarvis -- as a prominent spokesman for the Journalism Community -- and, consequently, the Press -- you have a Constitutional responsibility to the people of the United States to correct past errors and get up to speed with the 21st century -- no matter what it does to your personal ego.

I am sorry about that, and I apologize for being so brunt -- but times-a-wasting -- and you don't have time to continue f**king around the periphery -- we need action, NOW, NOW, NOW.

In case you failed to notice -- the entire world is in deep do-do -- and you are slightly behind the curve -- about fifteen/twenty years behind. Your recent book about privacy should have been written BEFORE the introduction of the Internet.

The Personal Computer and the Internet are the tools of the future; however, they will never do the job while under the control of selfish interests that are working for personal gain -- after all, that is the problem that is plaguing the world -- right??

If we really do live in a country that is "Of the people, by the people and for the people" -- then you have to build a "Press" that is working "for the people" as opposed to "for the advertisers." And you do that by building an archival database "for the people" -- as opposed to "for the owners." (AKA: Google, Bing, etc)

And, obviously, you have to start by opening the door for additional discussion -- and comments on a blog will not work since the discussion must be between equals and blog comments are meant to subvert the impact of equal, two-way, discussion -- email is the best we have until we can construct the proper forum type infrastructure.

BTW, Jeff, your thoughts on privacy become important when discussing that forum type infrastructure.

Have I got your attention??
