Welcome, Mr. Doctor, to my exclusive little club. You will note that this is #37 in this series -- my attempt to open a line of communication with somebody in the journalistic community. I won't bore you with the details as you can investigate my previous efforts at http://ifihadmyway.com. I like the part in your About Page where you state: I've seen the news business from at least six sides now -- alternative press, monthly magazines, features, news, digital journalism and analyst -- and each step along the path feels like an internship. Just as all technology is interim technology, all careers, today, seem more temporary than they used to. Obviously, I have to differ -- if you are going to be an analyst, you need to examine journalism from the outside -- you need to be a scientist -- you need to thoroughly understand the technology -- and the technology confronting journalism today is broken. But that is a subject that my exclusive club refuses to discuss. So, if you have really "come to learn," the most important line of study should be the anti-science bias of the journalistic community. Or will you be defensive like the rest of my club and refuse to discuss the matter with me?? Doug Skoglund skoglund@pdmsb.com This page posted at http://ifihadmyway.com/myway037.htm
