Except: Your link to @Dherman should be @dherman76.

I am, of course, referring to your 08 Sep post, "If marketing listened to Markets..."

I agree, 100%, down to the line where you state, "The only way to fix this is from the customers side."

There are other ways

Your way deals with the symptom itself, the behavior of the Vendor -- so you want to change the behavior of the Vendor by changing the behavior of the Customer -- that's what tools are generally designed to do.

First off, we live in a democracy -- you have no right to control an other person's behavior, other than asking your representative to pass some kind of law.

VRM, Vendor Relationship Management, implies control of Vendors by some sort of tool -- while Customers already have the most important tool necessary -- they control the money.

What Customers need is the ability to communicate with each other, in a free and open, non-controlled, manner -- they'll do the rest (have some faith in your fellow human being).

Obviously, I am trying to change your behavior -- sorry about that, but you are blocking the full and open, non-controlled, discussion of the problem with your personally motivated solution. And the exclusive use of Twitter is a big part of the problem -- after all, they have their personal motivations too.

Don't you see?? Twitter is designed to control the conversation, a situation I refuse to patronize. I would like to communicate with Darren Herman, yet he fails to provide an email address on the Twitter post (your link). I acknowledge the presence of a contact form on his web site (link from Bing search); however, this method is designed to control my (among others) behavior, but fails to leave a copy in my database. (I will use his form to post a link to this post).

Obviously, I have my personal motivations also; however, I believe that, properly handled, using the knowledge provided by Science, the inhabitants of this great Democracy, can resolve most any problem.

To be continued (of course)

Doug Skoglund

I don't provide for comments since that is a system designed to control the communication process -- I do provide an e-mail address!! (Please put a [MYWAY] in your title to get my attention).

BTW, I am working on a replacement system -- and I sure could use some help.
