I am referring to your handling of the Joe Nocera/Warren Buffett fiasco. When it comes to picking the fly shit out of the pepper, you have no competition -- none.

Now, I understand that you speak for the owners of the NYTimes; however, eating your own kind has a different description.

And I have no question about the purpose of Joe's columns -- he was giving Buffett a little heat about his handling of the Coca-Cola compensation matter. And Buffett chose to use his influence to twist the story around, making Joe the goat, in the process -- and you had to help. I am highly amused by the following from your post. (emphasis mine)

After a complaint from Mr. Buffett, which I was sent a copy of, corrections were appended to the columns, and published in print.

Maybe you should catch a little heat over your failure to identify the source of your copy -- after all, that was a significant causal event in this little fiasco -- right??

BTW, in case you missed the news -- The United States, as well as the rest of the world is in deep do-do. We are still in a recession, the worst one since the Great Depression -- and the prognosis for the future is not good. I am lucky, having lived through both, I will probably be gone when the shit finally hits the fan. What is it going to be?? Another Civil War or WWIII?? Or, what's the term?? Armageddon??

And the stupid part of the entire situation is the inability of the media, especially the newspapers, to see the way to better times. Greed is blind -- it has to be, to overlook the the damage caused by the inequality we have been reading about. Next thing you know, someone will be beating on Paul Krugman for his current writing.

The New York Times could be an international hero with a few very simple changes; however, I have no reason to believe that the people involved are smart enough to make the right choices.
